Past & Future Energy Clearing Guided Meditation

We are all time travelers. We spend the majority of our lives stuck in the past or obsessing about the future. Sometimes it’s to reflect on happy memories or exciting events we look forward to, but most of the time it’s to replay trauma that has occurred in the past or to create fears of the future. This is because of our negativity bias, the thing that gives 3x the weight to our negative thoughts & emotions as to positive ones (source). It’s the reason I started this blog to begin with – to help us overcome negativity and instead, lean toward the light.

The good news is: we can harness the power of the present moment to cultivate our self-compassion and use it to heal moments of past trauma and our fears for the future. This meditation came to me when I was reflecting on a particularly traumatic memory that has been with me for about a year. While meditating on it, I realized that, by placing my hand on my heart in a gesture of self-love, it was as though I was placing my hand on that girl’s heart – the younger me – who needed it most during that difficult experience. I found relief in the moment and a lessening of the memory’s intensity,  moving forward.
